Make the character and the planet, let Mobai point at the first house, then plant something you can cook. Ask for a home rating when the room has more than a bed. Real-time tasks mean a few goals will still be waiting tomorrow.
Neighbor invites, flower crosses, and Arbor upgrades are later systems. Jumping there on hour one skips the house the rating system is scoring.
