Set aside a breeding patch

A public beta guide recommends placing same-species flowers nearby, watering them and leaving space for new blooms. Its checkerboard suggestion is a working layout, not a proven optimal formula.

The wiki distinguishes hybrid flowers from shop seed stock: hybrids can come from breeding or another Planet Tender. A color name alone does not tell you which parents to use; some entries use two identical colors.

Keep breeding plants separate from a harvesting patch. Independent public beta posts describe rare colors reverting after repeated picking; they do not establish a universal fixed number of safe harvests.

Questions people ask

Do parents always need different colors?

No. Mauve Lily and Lime Daisy each use two parents with the same listed color.

Does a pair guarantee a new color tomorrow?
